Does anyone know if getting accepted through ED hurts chances at merit scholarships? It seems that if the school knows you are locked in, WF has less need to offer merit scholarships as they won’t be an incentive to come to Wake.
My child was accepted ED and I had same question before they applied and so we asked someone at the school involved in the decision-making. Wake did award them a Presidential Scholarship, $16,000 per year. They were told your admission status was not part of the consideration. We were definitely not eligible for financial aid, so they must not have considered that either. (The application was even more huge than the 8 questions for the initial application!) I would ask the admission office what the official policy is for the scholarships that might be a fit.
