Sorry for a newbie question. Are there non-school-specific merit scholarships to apply for? I know there is National Merit, but anything else? Thanks!
Well…sometimes employers have scholarships for the kids of their employees.
I believe the Coke Cola scholarship is merit based and does not consider financial need (not positive).
There will be local scholarships in you community that are not college specific.
How much money are you looking for in merit aid? Really the best merit aid comes from the colleges to which you are accepted so maybe targeting those types of schools would best for you.
With your stats, you could get excellent auto merit aid at University of New Mexico, University of Alabama, University of Arizona, Arizona State. You would be competitive for scholarships like the Robertson (Duke) and Jefferson (UVA) and also excellent awards at U of South Carolina. Some of the Florida publics will still be offering excellent merit to NMF.
