Ok so I wrote an essay using my friend's real name, but then went back and changed the name to something else. Only...I somehow skipped the last paragraph! Now my friend's name changes at the very end of the essay!! ): Does this ruin my whole application, or will they understand that it was a silly mistake?

They’ll probably run a plagiarism check, and may be contact you regarding the issue, however it is not a big deal if they like your essay they’ll let it slide

Thanks, I feel a little better! I definitely didn’t plagiarise so I’m not worried about that

I doubt they’ll even notice. Out of the thousands of applications they receive, how many do you think are actually perfect in every respect? A handful at most? Get some perspective here!

i highly highly HIGHLY doubt they will take the time to contact you regarding the issue

You could email them and tell them that in your essay, to protect your friend, you used a fake name, but accidentally only replaced it in parts. You don’t even have to necessarily say which name is real. They probably won’t care/notice however, but I still might point it out. It won’t ruin anything, however.

So you wrote your essay and mentioned your friend there? I think they’d probably don’t make a big deal out of that…

They’ll figure out what you did and it won’t matter. I’ve seen this before.
