I'm looking for some input about these 2 schools. Any and all. We have been focusing our attention on schools in northeast and thought we should be a little more open minded about geographics. This is for a student who is open to most settings and size, except extremely small or extremely rural. SAT scores over 1400, all honors/AP 96 unweighted average, average EC's. OOS for Ohio but always interested in merit aid. Thanks for any thoughts!

My son attends Denison and loves it. My sister in law spent 11 years (perpetual student) at Miami Univ. and loved it. They are however quite different - Miami is a state univeristy and Denison is a private liberal arts college. (Well, you probably know that already...)

Here is my write up on Denison:

Denison has great merit money and it sounds like your daughter would surely qualify for a nice amount. It's in a really cute, quaint town (Granville, it's lovely really) and close to a busier town (Newark) and Columbus. The campus is beautiful. Kids must live on campus all four years. Kids are friendly and quite ordinary. They're from all over the place, many are from the midwest. Academics are rigorous, small classes, personal apporach. If you have any questions feel free to private message me.

Personally I love having my kid in Ohio, but we have midwestern roots.

Thanks for the informed link. I'll be back with more questions, I'm sure.
