<p>If she really wants to go to MICA, use the RISD award as leverage to negotiate a better deal from MICA. I suspect they will up their offer.</p>
<p>I agree with you that MICA will let her "customize" a major more than RISD will.</p>

<p>from the mica propaganda i got, i'd say they have a very strong painting department, more focused on fine art than risd, which seems to focus more on design. but i also do have a personal bias towards risd, which is where i would be going next year if i could bear the measly liberal arts offered.
they're both very good schools... i almost applied to mica, but i don't think they had textiles. and my mom would only let me apply to one art school.</p>
