It depends how you look at it Knowstuff. Let us remember that most corporate executives are MBAs. Michigan’s MBA program is small compared to Harvard’s or Penn’s, or Northwestern’s or Chicago’s or Columbia’s. Ross MBA enrolls 800 full time students, compared to 1,200-1,800 at those other MBA programs. At any rate, the CEO count is more of an amusing fact than anything else. CEO’s of Fortune 100 companies are outliers. A much better gauge of a university’s alumni success is the number of alumni in senior executive positions. Unfortunately, that is much harder a figure to tabulate, but I suspect that the top universities will be represented more consistently according to the size of the size of their alumni entering the corporate ranks (not including alumni going into medical/health, legal or academic professions).
