I've applied to (microbiology majors)(undergrad)
Pittsburgh(accepted)
Rutgers (accepted)
UMass of Amherst
University of Vermont
University of Rhode Island

I'm planning on getting at least a masters degree in microbiology, and maybe my Phd after.

I hear a ton of people raving about Pittsburgh. They say that they have a good program there. I'm considering going there but it's 8 hours away and I live in New York. I also hear a few people raving about Rutgers.

I know UMass of Amherst and Vermont have this 5 year BS/BM degree program that I'm curious about. I know that you have to get a certain gpa and apply junior year. Did anyone try this program? and if so, what did you think of it?

I don't really hear much about Umass of Amherst and Vermont. Do you think it's worth it to get a "better" education in Pittsburgh or Rutgers and then waste more money and go to grad school, or do you think I should go to the "better deal" and get my masters in 5 years?

Also, if you majored or are majoring in microbiology in any of these schools, please share all the information/ your opinions. Also, how many job opportunities and internships are there in these schools? Is there a good amount or not? And last but not least, how is the research in these schools for microbiology?
