Microeconomics in the summer @ UCLA or UCI?

Since it's practically a pre-req for graduate school in Public Policy, I need to take Microecon. At UCLA the equivalent would be Econ 1 and at UCI it would be Econ 20. I have my friends that are econ majors and they all got Bs or B+s in Econ 1. At UCLA, Econ 1 is like a weeder class and on average most people get B-s.

How difficult is Econ 20 at UCI? If it is easier, I'd rather take it there and have a higher chance of getting an A or A- there than struggle just to get a B- at UCLA. Though this is just an assumption. All of my friends that have taken Econ 20 at UCI said it was "okay." Yeah...very broad so I don't know. Any opinions or anyone know how difficult was Econ 20? And lastly, I'll be planning to take it in the summer so...would that make it easier? I always heard summer courses are easier than the school year.

its general econ, how hard could it be?
just look up the textbook by mankiw. chances are thats the book thats going to be used. even if its not, his general textbook is fairl representative of what you need to know.

btw: i dont think anything is a “weeder” classes. its typically something people say when they dont do well in a class and dont want to take responsibility for their actions.
like all those bio majors who call ochem a weeder class… it has the same grade distribution as any other physical science/engr class.
schools are not out there to “fail” kids.
if you want to call them a weeder class, it means it weeds out the kids who suck at the field and shouldnt be there.

I took econ 20A last quarter, and it is definitely not a weeder class. I had Shah, and it was her first quarter teaching at UCI, the class was pretty easy, there were just some tricky questions on her midterms, but the class is pretty straightforward.

I have some friends that are taking Econ 20A this quarter, and they are complaining because of the professor.

All in all, as long as your professor doesn’t suck, you should be fine.

I can’t help you on summer classes since I never took summer school at UCI and don’t plan on it until upper divs.

From what you said, Econ will probably be easier at UCI, but once again, it depends on the professor imo.
