Hopefully I can phrase this question correctly. What are some mid-upper level schools for undergrad, that are also known to be good law schools. I know that GPA and LSAT scores are the most important factors for law school admission, but wouldn't going to a well-known college for law as an undergrad help? What are some schools in the range of a 30-50% acceptance rate that fit this criteria?

SMU (SMU ranks in the top one-fourth of the “best national universities” in U.S. News & World Report’s rankings. In the 2014 report, SMU ranks 58 among 280 national universities) has a pre-law scholars program.

A limited number of students (approximately 30 per year) are selected to join the Pre-Law Scholars Program before their enrollment as undergraduates at SMU. Students participating in the Pre-Law Scholars Program who satisfy certain conditions will be guaranteed admission into SMU Dedman School of Law upon completion of their undergraduate degrees. To be considered for the program, applicants must first be admitted to SMU as undergraduates and have marked Pre-Law as an area of interest on their admissions applications. Scholars will be selected based on the overall quality of their applications to SMU. No additional application or essay is required. Invitations to join the Pre-Law Scholars Program will be mailed after SMU’s regular decision notification date.
To gain automatic admission into the SMU Dedman School of Law, Pre-Law Scholars must either:

Earn at least a 3.75 cumulative undergraduate GPA* and score at least 153 on the LSAT; or
Earn at least a 3.20 cumulative undergraduate GPA* and score at least 164 on the LSAT

From US New and World Reports: Among 194 law schools fully accredited by the American Bar Association, the Dedman School of Law ranks 42nd, an increase of six points from last year’s ranking of 48th. The ranking again places Dedman Law in the first tier of law schools in the guide’s “best schools of law” category. In Texas, SMU is one of only two law schools in the first tier.

I’m not sure if this is the type of information you are looking for or not.

Best of luck.

College of William and Mary, University of Alabama, University of Washington, George Washington University, Boston University, Fordham University?

Last I looked, the top 14 law schools are associated with universities that are considered reasonably respectable for undergraduate study (though there may be strengths or weaknesses in specific majors).

I guess if you can get into a top 25 law school, maybe it’s worth it. But Some 208 law schools saw declining admissions, according to this article. I can’t cry for the fact we will have fewer lawyers in this country. http://theadvocate.com/news/11137666-123/lsu-law-center-offers-buyouts
