How common is it to need to submit mid-year grades senior year? And is there a general timeframe the colleges would want them by? Other than Case Western, I don’t think we’ve seen a request for them yet, but I don’t know if that means there won’t be or not.
Check out the admissions requirements for each college. It’s a common requirement, and not all colleges will remind you since it’s your responsibility.
As far as timing, as soon as the are available. Which ranges from mid-January to early February
Talk to your guidance counselor. My sons high school sends them automatically to all colleges he applied to.
Thanks to both of you. I will have him look and see if he can find where it’s listed. We have some circumstances that might mean there isn’t anything to send until late February or even March. I’ll have him look for due dates and we can email colleges as necessary. Trying to be on top of this.
I believe every school DS applied to wanted them. Including ED deferrals. For kids with a demanding course load, this is the closest to college work they’ll have.
Another reason to keep pedal to the metal throughout senior year.
Extremely common. Perhaps not all, but certainly most.
I think you can see on Common App which schools are requesting them, which are nearly all my S is applying to. Ours are submitted automatically via Schoolinks.
@gardenstategal thankfully his grades are all good. We just aren’t sure when or how the semester will end this year.
@murray93 thanks. I will have him go through and make a list.
@Luanne , our school calculated these only for seniors as they fell in the middle of a term. This is probably a question for your GC as to dates and methodology.
