Mid Year Report

How does one know if WM admission has recieved their mid year report?

There’s no e-mail or anything to let you know if W&M got your mid-year report or not. If you told your school to send in the MYR, there’s a 99% chance W&M received it. If I recall correctly, W&M doesn’t even always need the mid-year report to make their decision. If they do turn out to need a MYR and don’t have one, they’ll contact your school to get it. In short, don’t worry about it.

Here is an answer based on what i’ve read many times before…

-They do not confirm the receipt of MYRs
-They have usually made decisions by the time MYRs come, so the MYR either solidifies or calls into question your prior achievements
-They will contact you or the school for whatever they need

Hi Halloimzack. I posted a mid-year report question a couple of weeks ago and W&M Admissions confirmed that reports sent last week and even this week are not too late. So, I would like to give hillbryd305 hope by politely disagreeing with your post. Good luck to all…my DD is OOS and would be ecstatic if she were given a shot at W&M. Still waiting with hope…

I did not say that hillbyrds MYR report was late.

I answered his question, W&M does not confirm the receipt of MYRs, but if they do still need it, they will contact your school.

On the ball CC members. Everyone is correct in that we do not confirm receipt of mid-year reports but if we need them to make a decision and do not have them, we will contact the student’s school directly to request a copy.

halloimzack, we do not usually make decisions without mid-year reports. We certainly begin the review process without them (as they are not available when we begin reviewing applications) but we certainly do our best to review all information submitted.

Thank you W&M. And halloimzack, sorry for misconstruing your answers to hillbyrds questions–I did focus on a portion your second answer stating that “They have usually made decisions by the time MYRs come,” which implied that mid-years arrive too late. Once again, W&M always quick to clarify things! You’re awesome W&M!

to clarify, I am a a student admitted ED and was required to send a midyear report in which my GC did. A more clear question would be can ED applicants check to see if their MYR in or is it the same as Rd applicants and goes unconfirmed?

hillybyrd, congrats on being admitted ED and welcome to the Tribe!

Unfortunately, like RD applicants, we cannot confirm receipt of your mid-year report. However, 99% of the time, forms submitted arrive and are filed with the student’s application so no worries.

For all students who enroll we do track receipt of final transcripts and you are notified if those do not make it to our ofice.
