Middlebury, Carelton, Colby or William and Mary?

I am trying to decide which school to use my ED on. I think that Middlebury and WM are the biggest contenders in my mind. What would you suggest? Should I consider colby and carleton? What are some pros and cons of each school (more specifically WM and Midd). Thanks!

I think you mean Carleton…

yes, you are right

Well, right now it is 45 degrees in Williamsburg, VA. (much colder than usual for this time of year), and 29 degrees in Middlebury Vermont. That temperature spread is likely to widen as winter approaches.

Yes the weather is quite different! Do you like to ski? I don’t know much about William and Mary, but it is quite a bit bigger than Middlebury too. What are your interests? You might have to provide more information. Middlebury is amazing for languages and environmental science and a top notch place academically. If you like Midd and it’s quite a reach for you, then definitely consider Colby which is somewhat easier to get into.

If you like to wear shorts in Jan, beach more than mountains, and a bigger LAC experience. W&M is the place. Also, Div 1 sports. Nationally ranked in M & W Soccer, as well as Football ( beat UVirginia this year).

Very late here but felt the need to reply. Daughter just graduated from W&M. Great experience. But please don’t allow a Div1 sports tag be connected to this school. If big time sports is an important criteria then W&m is out. More importantly, applying ED to any school is a serious issue. You should not be asking which school you should choose to use this option. ED is when you eating, breathing, thinking about this school 24/7. Have visited, researched, visited, researched…you get the idea.

If you’re undecided now, you’d probably regret your decision. It’s a long time from Dec to May 1st, and you’d learn a lot about the other schools and likely change your mind.

OP is comparing Div 3 sports and W&M is Div 1; a significant difference.
