Middlebury chances RD

I applied RD to Middlebury. I hope to study communications, media etc.

SATs: 2060 (one sitting)
SAT II: USH 700.
GPA: 3.89/4.3 (top 10% – highest ranking school reports)
AP’s: APUSH (5), AP Lang (5), World History (4), Biology (3). I’ve taken every AP and honors class at my school (which is a small performing arts high school) except for calculus.
Senior courseload: mandarin IV, probs and stats, AP lit, AP gov, physics.
Awards: National Hispanic Recognition Award, POSSE finalist, CSF scholar, honor roll, AP scholar with honors, White House Film Festival Honorable Mention.

I have great extracurriculars, I’ve interned at the Jewish Journal, for Congressman Tony Cardenas, Planned Parenthood, have a job at the Hollywood Bowl, started two clubs at my school, tutored low-income students, am a stage manager at my school etc etc.

I think my common app essay is fun and funny and I am really happy with my supplements. I think my recommendations are good, my counselor loves me as do the teachers I asked. (9/10)

I am a half Latino/Jewish man. I have a friend who is a prominent alumni at Middlebury – in fact, she won alumni of the year (who knew this was a thing!) – who is writing me a letter of recommendation.

I think I am a strong applicant but my SAT score is a little low. I’ve already gotten into Tulane (Founders scholarship) and Fordham with a full scholarship.

Impressive accomplishments, good luck! I am not sure that anyone can really predict admissions.

Be aware, doody125, that Midd doesn’t offer a major in Communications.

Do have a look at http://www.middlebury.edu/academics to make sure you know what you want to do - as an alumni interviewer, if I were told that an applicant wanted to major in something that Midd doesn’t offer, I’d need to be convinced that they’d done their research and understood what they were applying to Midd for.
