I am an international student, planning to apply ED2 to Middlebury College, asking for Financial Aid(willing to pay around 25000$).
My ACT score is composite: 31(E: 34, Math: 30, Reading: 31, Science: 27) and superscored: 32(science is 31 then, the rest are same)
My new SAT score is a 1430 and I haven’t sat for any subject tests.
I am an IB student, with a GPA of around 3.85/4 and projected IB score of 42/45.
I am also planning to apply to the following colleges RD:
Brown
Swarthmore
Colgate
Tufts
Macalester
Babson
Franklin & Marshall
What are my chances?
We need to know a little more about you. What are you extracurriculars? Planned field of study? It’s definitely tough as an international asking for aid.

Internship in microfinance from Grameen Trust under Nobel Laureate Dr. Yunus
Co-founding a charity organization Perception which set up a school for the underprivileged girls in the country, which is sponsored by Brac Organization(internationally recognized)
4 years in the school cricket team-3rd place in regional cricket tournament
2 years in the school Badminton team
Chair in the national Model United Nations Conference
Built a water tank in a service project in a village in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Planned Field of Study: Economics
“Willing to pay”…possibly not happening. You are a good candidate, but not outstanding. Are you from Thailand? Male or Female? First generation?
I think Brown-and Swat are high reaches.Tufts and Colgate might be tough. You are good for Babson and Macalaster, and I’m not familiar enough with F and M.
Depends on your story, really. You are qualified but internationals are not need-blind and unless you are first generation or have a compelling story, it puts you at a disadvantage.
