Midwest Merit Aid

Hello,
I'm currently a senior in high school looking at schools in the midwest. I scored a 31 on the ACT(first try, should i retake for higher or is it too late?) and I have a 3.5w gpa. I have taken the hardest classes my school offers, about 12 aps and the rest honors classes. I am interested in the math and sciences but want a place where it would be easy to change majors because I'm still very uncertain as to what I want to major in. I'm looking for places that fit these stats/interests that give good merit aid to a person like me. Prestiege isn't a big thing for me a good fit is more of a concern. Thanks.

OK...reading other posts it looks like you are instate for Illinois, and you have already been accepted to one school there and one in Iowa. What are you looking for in a school? There are many schools in the midwest and lots of folks with experience with merit aid at those schools...but I don't feel like I have enough info to really give you any specific suggestions.

There are a number of smaller liberal arts colleges in Ohio that might offer you merit aid. And there are some in Illinois and Wisconsin too, and even Michigan. But I'm not sure they would bring the cost down to your instate university cost.

Off the top of my head: Creighton Univ esp if you can get the ACT up to 32, Luther College, Beloit College. They all have merit money as you would be amongst their top students.

Im instate in Iowa but i used to live in illinois. I'm particularly interested in cryptology... yes i know its not a very popular field. This however could change because im still figuring out what im interested in. Do I still have time to retake the ACT or is it too late. I could easily get it up to a 33 or 34 if i took some time to prep for it.
