Midwestern Colleges with Merit Aid

32 is an excellent score, but some of the schools on your list may need it to be more excellent for signficant merit aid.

U of Mich - in, apply early - rolling admissions.
Michigan State - in - check site for money details
Kalamazoo College - in, I believe they have them come in to write for the larger merit scholarships
WashU at St. Louis - 50/50 or better, merit money hard to predict
U of Chicago - admissions depends on essays, higher ACT useful for merit aid (note: they do needs-based with a limited number of merit scholarships).
U of NDame - not familiar with school, can't predict
Northwestern - 50/50 (match)
Vanderbilt - 50/50 or better, higher ACT would be useful for merit aid
Purdue - in, check website for scholarship details
Case - in, guessing at least the 15,000 scholarship level???
Duke - reach due number of applicants, better ACT might help.
UPenn - see Duke

Thanks for summing it up nicely

Thanks. When my son and I were going through this, we sprang for the $89 stat's evaluation that college confidential offers - I think you get to pick 8 colleges. Dave Berry did my son's - the prognostication was on the money. I think it also reduced my stress level during the waiting part. March is at least 60 days long when you are waiting for the envelopes (hopefully fat) to arrive.

University of Cincinnati has a lot of merit aid available and is also cheaper in tuition to begin with.

ND with those stats is probably around 50/50 as well, unless you have connections to the university, which would bump it up...ACT jump would help a lot
