Those will be under consideration, but my D is nearing shutdown mode as far as new colleges are concerned, so we will have to see.

One last thing, she had her interview at Scripps College in Claremont. An all girls colleges in the midst of four other colleges, so the best of both possible worlds. Lovely campus, very supportive of the students, and a great atmosphere for learning. We will see how that turns out.

^ Can you please tell me a little bit more about LMU? We drove through the campus when we visited SCU and the younger son loved the look. He will be a History major or perhaps undeclared. Thanks.

We loved SCU too.

LMU is a great campus. They are also a CSS PROFILE school, so keep that in mind. Your financial package may differ radically from a FAFSA only school.

LMU is a wonderful university. My daughter is a psychology major, she is going to be a junior next year, and she really loves the school. This is not an easy school. They have core classes that need to be taken by all majors, but this is something that she really loves about a liberal arts university. There is so much more freedom with regards to which classes you may take. She took a music theory class, intro to acting and is taking a class in Russian History next semester. All of her professors have been excellent. One of the things she really appreciates is that each major has a village - an area with computers and study areas surrounded by the offices of all the professors within the major. She goes there all the time and really enjoys how available the professors are. She was also accepted to Santa Clara and the University of San Diego. What set LMU apart for her was it’s diversity and the fact that it is located in Los Angeles. We live in South Orange County and she really wanted more diversity in her secondary education. LMU fulfilled that requirement for her. As far as the financial aid goes, LMU has been more than fair to her. She received a substantial freshman scholarship. They increased in by a few thousand sophomore year and have honored that amount for junior year. I have a son at USD and they have not been nearly as generous with their aid. Basically, I and my daughter have nothing but good things to say about the university. I would give it a serious look. Good luck.

One last thing, LMU is not a CSS Profile School. You only fill out the FAFSA.

That’s good news! it was a CSS PROFILE school, in the past. I just checked their website and it says:

We had to fill this out for our sons in the late 2000’s, and I have a relative going there who has had to fill it out, each year.

Thanks for updating us. (Don’t you love CC posters?!)

I have never had to fill it out… That’s strange. It’s fine by me though. Happy I could help.

SamuraiLandshark - I just saw how many posts you have. Wow! That’s impressive!! :-)

I have to admit it is a software glitch.

I would have to post every nanosecond over the course of a lifetime to get this kind of post count…but it’s kind of funny.

hahahahaha… That really is funny.

Oh wow, I din’t notice the number of posts! Its too funny!!

Thanks for all the info. We will visit LMU again.
