Minnesota winter

Alright, I got accepted to my two top choice schools: U of M and CPP (in California). I've lived in California my whole life and definitely don't want to be bored out of my mind all winter. What is there to do in Minnesota?

Skiing (both x-country and downhill . . . really!), snowboarding, luge and skeleton, snow-shoeing, tubing (superfun), sledding, racing canoes down the hillside (I’ve seen it done), snowmobiling, building snowmen a la Calvin and Hobbes, building other snow sculptures, ice hockey, broomball, curling, skating, polar bear plunging (never did it myself), ice fishing, pulling a sled behind your car on a frozen lake (don’t recommend it), mushing (there are places you can go for sled dog adventures), and my favorite - ice sailing (like windsurfing) across frozen lakes.

Of, and there’s this: [Winter Carnival](http://www.winter-carnival.com/)

Plus, Minneapolis/St. Paul has all the normal indoor kinds of fun too.

Making snow angels on your way home from class!

U of M TC has a now annual snowball fight, where many students participate.

Snow tubing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snow shoeing, outdoor ice skating. Indoor tennis, swimming, etc.

I used to live the Bay Area for years before moving to Minn. It will take a while to get used to the harsh winters.
