Minority Status

<p>I am 3/4 Hispanic, first generation on one side, but I am only semi-fluent in Spanish and my last name is Jewish. I'm applying as Hispanic, but will they see through that label? I mean, I consider myself Hispanic. </p>

<p>And how much will this label help? Stats: predicting LSAT of 172-175 (based on practice tests... conservative figure -- scored higher on several practices) and GPA of 3.3. And I'm a male.</p>

<p>I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t take you at your word. There are many other repercussions down the line if you’re lying.</p>

<p>The strategy is to mention it casually in your personal statement, or many law schools ask for diversity statements anyway. “Being of mixed heritage, including having three Hispanic grandparents…”</p>
