I reallly want to go to Minnesota college of science and engineering but I missed their priority deadline, with this stat can I get in U of Minn eventhough I missed the deadline?

SAT 2070, CR+Math=1420
GPA 95/100 converted to 4.0/4.0
Rank 1/215
In a High school for the Gifted
Win National Math Olympiad, third prize
City's Math Olympiad, second prize
A lot of leadership and EC as well as intern work
Please help me, I am so depressed right now.

I don’t think anyone on these boards really knows how hard it is to be admitted if you miss the priority deadline. You might want to email an admissions counselor. Alternatively, submit your application immediately as waiting is unlikely to help you. Your stats are far above typical U of M students so that should help you.

Thanks for answering my question, because I waited until my school to release my senior’s first semester transcript so it took me a lot of time, I will submit my application next 10 hours via Fedex priority,Do I stand a chance with this stat? please let me know because having to wait and hope for 2 months and after that receive the rejection letter will be a nightmare for me.

I certainly think you stand a chance. If your application had been on time I think you would have had an excellent chance. I do not know how applying late will affect your application though. I’m pretty sure it was unnecessary to wait for fall senior grades to apply but nothing to do about that now.

According to this page [Freshman Admission](http://admissions.tc.umn.edu/admissioninfo/fresh.html) it seems like they will accept late applicants to the College of Education and Human Development and the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the very least. I don’t know how interested you are in those subjects or how hard it would be to transfer from one of those colleges to CSE but it’s a possibility you might want to explore.

I have a similar problem too~ I am from New York (OOS) and I’m interested in UMN, Liberal Arts College. My stats are:

ACT: 25
Average: Above 90-91 average (I’m not sure did my senior grades change it)
Rank: 145 out of 911 students
I’m involved in a bunch of extracurricular activities like Marching Band, etc. Is it better for me to apply to U of Wisconsin-Madison instead as they have a larger acceptance rate?

At this point it seems kinda late to apply to CLA but I don’t really know. According to the link above it seems like CEHD and CFANS are still accepting applications. If the deadline for Madison hasn’t passed yet, you should definitely apply there. You might want to apply to both anyways though. I don’t know about Madison but the application for the University of Minnesota is really quick and easy.
