Hello I recently got admitted into the University of Washington, and I realized that I made a mistake in my Coalition application. In my sophomore year, I took Journalism. During the time when I was applying, I thought Journalism was part of English, so I put “English” for the subject area section and “English-Other” for the class section in the 9-11 grade coursework section. However, I recently realized that Journalism is a College-Preparatory Electives course. The same thing goes for my Computer Science; I thought Computer Science didn’t belong to any of the subject areas, so I put it under “Other” section. Will the University of Washington withdraw my acceptance because of this?
No, they won’t
Thank you for your reply. Do I need to inform them that I made a mistake? I am sorry for bothering you, but I am literally freaking out about it right now because they said they might withdraw my application if “Our decision was based on incomplete or inaccurate information you provided in your application file” under the conditions of admission.
You submitted your transcript with the correct classes, right? This is just an issue of what categories you put them into when you self reported – am I understanding that correctly?
Yes, you are understanding it correctly. It is just the categories of subjects when I self-reported them.
They are going to see your official transcript. This is not a problem. Unless your official transcript shows that you are missing required courses, you are fine.
Ok, I don’t think this is a big deal at all. They’ve seen the specific classes on your transcript. I don’t think you need to inform them. You can if you’re really worried, but I think it’s unnecessary.
Thank you for your help.
