<p>Paul Krugman got his PhD in Economics from MIT and then was on the faculty for over 20 years. All of his major research work for wich he got the Nobel Prize was conducted while at MIT. He taught introductory Macroeconomics to an entire generation of MIT undergrads until he left in 2000 to go to Princeton. </p>
