I applied to MIT last year, and I was rejected. I decided to take a "gap year," and I wanted to re-apply. However, MyMIT won't allow me to create a new account with the same information as my old account, and I can't apply using my old account. Is re-applying not possible, or is there some way around this?

Thanks.

Tcg, this is probably one of those cases where the quickest route to a dependable answer is to call the college and ask.

what error is MyMIT throwing you? we certainly allow kids to reapply.

@MITChris: Well, I tried to create a new account on MyMIT, but it says I can’t because another user (my account from last year) already has all the same information. It doesn’t look like I can reapply from my old account; it just says “MIT’s Regular Action Decisions have been released.” The word “released” is a link, but when I click on it, my browser won’t load the page (which, even if it did, would be my old rejection letter … right?) Should I just change the information on the old account so I can make a new account with the correct information?

once the application is live you should be able to create a new account with the old info. right now it thinks you’re trying to reapply with the old app. so just try again in a few weeks.
