<p>I go to Phillips Academy, Andover, just finished my sophmore year.</p>

<p>Grades-</p>

<p>9th grade - went to Lynnfield High, ranked 1/~130 with GPA of 4.518</p>

<p>10th grade @ PA-</p>

<p>Grades on a 0-6 scale, 6 being 93-100, 5 is 85 - 92, 4 is 78 - 84
*5 is an honors grade, 4 is good, 3 is "satisfactory"</p>

i've already registered at my school to start a mock trial club next year
planning to go to either NASA Sharp or SSP next year</p>

<p>took 2 APs, bc calc and chem, pretty sure I got a 5 on both
taking SAT II math IIC and chem
I got 800 and 730, respectively, on my practice tests</p>

<p>what are my chances at MIT or Caltech? if you need any more info just ask...</p>

<p>Too early to tell right now. If you want, you can cross-check against my stats, which led to MIT rejection and Caltech acceptance (though the rejection may well have been from missing the interview altogether :p)</p>

<p>As with all top schools, you'll get much better advice from your college counseling office and college book than you'll get here.</p>

<p>geez another one... if your about 1/300, ...being ranked #1 in your grade, it is obvious that you have a great chance at MIT and Caltech</p>

<p>very good chances so far. the fact that you go to andover is really helpful. andover is a GREAT school.</p>

<p>what is your ranking at Andover? do they rank or calculate GPAs?</p>

<p>they don't do ranks, at least as far as I am aware.</p>

<p>as you can see from their grading system, their gpa is ..... unusual. </p>

<p>last term, i had a 6 average, which only an "elite few" have, according to my advisor (like a conselor). i have heard that 7 people got a 6 average in the fall</p>

<p>A lot can happen in the next 2 years, believe me, they step it up. You won't know how you compare for another year. Really though, go ask a college counselor, people here generally don't know what it takes at a school like PA.</p>
