I like to be around extraverted people and am afraid that MIT might be somewhat too introverted for me. Which activities/social living group/ect would be more extraverted and inclusive?

You can most definitely find extroverted communities here :)

Though I’d be biased to give you what I think. If you get here, take full advantage of rush and poke at some activities you’re interested in.

There’s no monolithic social personality into which every MIT student must fit.

Just saying that you’re an extrovert doesn’t actually give any of us enough information to suggest living groups or activities for you – there are extroverts all over MIT, in all kinds of living situations. I lived in MacGregor, which is an all-singles dorm with a reputation for being quiet, and even there, I found plenty of friendly, social-butterfly kinds of people.

I think anyone who’s ever met me will vouch for the fact that MIT has at least some outgoing people.

You’ll be surprised. MIT culture is extremely diverse and extreme in all kinds of ways, and I can guarantee you there are some extremely extroverted living communities at MIT. What’s so cool about MIT is that it presents a strikingly large range of personalities/living group cultures in its population, and actually lets residents have a voice in where they live. Thus if you want a super-extroverted living group, you will most likely find one (many in fact).
