MIT FAQ for application year 2008-2009

oh god, you should have contacted MIT weeks ago. Email the interviewer and also tell the adcoms about it. Soon. But don't panic XD.

Email them the URL.

I think there is a link on MyMIT which allows you to report that you have had an interview, but that your interviewer's report hasn't shown up on your tracker yet. MIT will contact your interviewer themselves.

I have already used that link, I would have to wait till the tracking system comes back online.

80 is a B+. So don't worry.

Blue box an 80 is a B-. B+ is 87-89.

No point fighting on this fellas ... it varies from school to school and depends on a lot of other factors.

yea lol. 85 is like a dream come true here! top grades

I have a SAT of 1450(M: - 750 and V:- 700). I am taking 6 AP's (AP chem., AP physics C, AP cal. BC, AP lit, AP Gov. , AP comp. Sci.,Senior Science Investigation )
and have about 7 EC's going on. It became very hectic for me handle and I got a C+(82.13) in AP literature and C+(80.91) in Senior Science Investigation for the semester. I have A's and B's for everything

I applaid to MIT for RD

Are my hopes for MIT lost or do I have a chance??

is this thread closed or something
jus asking cuz there is no activity going on

You applied, now wait for the decisions to come. Everybody here can only give a vague answer, more than often trying to soothe your anxiety.

thanx for the advice lol!!!

And no, one grade cannot get your application thrown into the dust-bin unless it's a fail grade!

thanx again bro!!!!

If I got in EA, do I still need to mail MIT my mid-year report?

If you got in EA, you would know that yourself wouldn't you? :)

No, otherwise I wouldn't be asking. Some people have told me that I don't need to submit a Midyear report.

Call up MIT and ask. That would be the best thing to do.

I'm going to be taking the AMC tomorrow. I didn't send scores for other years, since I took the test but didn't know what my scores were; is it a good idea to send tomrrow's scores, or is that unnecessary?

hello this is a comment for mollie

Hi! I'm an 8th grader. i have the desire to become a physicist, if you get to know me well enough i really have the motivation and potential to becoming one. Science is everything to me and math of course. and no i did not get the inspiration by Albert Einstein, But i have the desire to become a better and smarter person then him. to become one i need advice to know what college to go to so my career path is set into motion. I have applied to a high school / college which i know they will accepted me because of how much motivation and potential i have. If you are reading this and do not reply it does not matter to me, but it will greatly help me. If you do recommend this college i need to know the basic and advanced subjects to know. also i would love it if you could reply it in a private message so you could we could chat and talk in a more private area. ty

You should talk to pebbles -- she's the physicist. :) I'm just a biologist!
