Any way you’d like to update MIT will be fine.

hey i was wondering when Regular Decisions roll out this year? Pi day again? :)

^^ same here. i was wondering if its more likely that they would be released on the 13th (since people say it only goes out on a saturday) or if they will wait until the 20th…

The admissions office can only announce a date when they are far enough through selection that such an announcement is possible. Typically they try to announce the release date by the end of the first week of March.

I am not inclined to speculate on the actual release date – it will probably be in mid-March, and we won’t know anything until they announce the release date.

The coach is either speculating or is misinformed. The decision date has not been decided yet.

And, certainly, it is the goal to release decisions in mid-March, which has often coincided with Pi Day for maximum cuteness. But they’ll get the decisions out when they’re able to do so, which could end up being later or earlier.

I think there’s been a little more flexibility in recent years, as they’ve switched to online decisions. When decisions had to be put in envelopes and mailed, they were up against a little more of a wall.

“which has often coincided with Pi Day for maximum cuteness.”

I hope they stick to this even if they do finish earlier, although if they can’t finish in time then I understand being later. It’s one of the many many reasons I applied. nerdy cuteness. ;)

Hi Molliebatmit,

Thank you for your continued advices & encouragement …

Could you please clarify a query on the MIT Secondary School report ( & in the Common Apps secondary school report ):- What is sought in this report? Scores of the 11th grade or 10th?

Let me explain that a little more with respect to schools in India. Here Schools have a ‘Board’ exam ( Nation wide exam conducted by various ‘Boards’ like : 'Central Board of Secondary Education - or CBSE) at the end of the 10th year ( ‘Secondary School’) and another Board at the end of the 12th year ( ‘Senior School’). There is only a localized school exam in 11th grade and everyone - including the school officials, apart from the kids take this year easy. Its not a national exam and makes no sense for an evaluation purpose.

So - to get back to the question - Scores of which year is sought in those forms - 10th or 11th?

thanx & rgds !

Hi to all.

I am a student from Asia and would like to apply to MIT. I would like to do engineering there. Well, I have some questions about the application to MIT.

Firstly, what is the score range required for the ACT to apply to MIT.

Secondly, are the applications forms already released for admissions this fall?

Thanks in advance.

There are no required scores. I think the general consensus is that anything 32+ is very competitive. That being said, there isn’t a lot of weight on standardized test scores, especially for international applications.

No to the second question. If I recall, they released applications in August or July last year.

The secondary school report requests grades from all years, even though they’re not nationally standardized.
