MIT Housing

pardon my stupidity, but what's the i3?=(

True to my word, pictures of MacGregor facilities (almost people-free) can be found at
http://web.mit.edu/mollieb/www/website/macgregor

I included a few of the bathroom (shared by 6 people), one of the kitchen (also shared by 6 people), a suite lounge (again, 6 people... used as a study area), the main entry lounge (mostly a hang-out area, although no one's there right now), and a few rooms. The pictures are not such great examples of photography. Sorry about that.

It is likely that everyone assigned to MacGregor will get singles (doubles only occur in crowding situations, and are in the suite lounges shown above). MacGregor rooms are in fact small, but we only use our rooms for studying/sleeping anyway.

And, mithopefulgirl -- i3 is the "Interactive Introduction to the Institute" (I think that's what it stands for) -- a CD/booklet which introduces you to the dorms through video and a short information blurb.

Wow, mollieb, thanks a bunch! :)

Yeah...thanks!

Thanks mollie=)

ah, pika. like ET (another ilg i'm familiar with) their kitchen is pretty much fully stocked in an industrial-sized way, since it basically feeds 40+ people consistently.

also, remember, if you want an appliance that isn't around, you can probably pick it up off reuse (if you wait long enough) or chip in with likeminded friends. using your college years to begin building up a store of stuff (furniture, appliances, etc) you'll need when you get a "real apartment" in the "real world" is never a bad idea.

I forgot to mention this before -- but I am in fact in the MacGregor i3 video for about 15 seconds. My segment is unbelievably lame. One of my friends was filming, and he needed someone to say some lines, and I was dragged into it against my will... and hence the lameness. I am not, I hope, actually this lame in person.

haha this is funny: "Please be advised: this DVD is produced exclusively by students. It includes some strong language, and several scenes which may not be appropriate for all viewers."

I like your weekend rising time graph

Haha, now I'm really embarassed.

Actually, I keep a whole spate of stastics on my sleep time (because I am a dork), which can be found somewhere in my Public folder.

whoa, the crazy thing is I know another molly (molly@mit) who ALSO keeps sleep graphs in her ~/Public

Its a small world!!
er....I mean campus....

Now wait for this "it's a small world" moment -- that Molly was actually my host when I was a prefrosh. I don't think I picked up the habit from her... but it is quite odd.

haha, cool. Very interesting statistics for each school year. Did you get better at managing your time? Seems like your sleep time actually increased :P

I've gotten phenomenal at managing time. It's what happens when you come in with very little credit and have to bust your hump to double-major.

Actually, I think I get more sleep when I have lots of stuff to do... hence dead week, when I have nothing to do and I am surfing the internet at 2 AM...

Hmmm.. is this popular? I know a few other people at MIT who keep sleep graphs.

Here's the only graph I keep: graduation credits

:p

i dont, and dont know anyone who does outside CC
