i wouldn’t guess about that, people on these boards seem to be making a lot of random guesses without any actual proof. If you want to know why you haven’t received a location preference email then email LaunchX and ask, otherwise relax and stop thinking about it, worrying and stressing over it doesn’t help. Good luck to everyone, I know you all will be excited to go to Launch if accepted. Even if you are rejected, you all worked very hard on the application, and have all accomplished so much in your own ways. Good luck, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. If any other moms or even kids applying to Launch have any questions let me know via PM!
@JuniorDayz Hello, when did your son get his interview? how many days later did he receive the information? Also, they informed you on email or on website task list? Thank you!
and by the way, what location did you guys choose? I think they will definitely consider your application according to your location preferences. mine is MIT.
aha i think if they really want you, they’ll still give you a spot at another location if you don’t get your first.
@xinyuchen ! 1 week after his interview is when he was told, and given the info. The acceptance will come in both the portal and your email.
Regarding your other comment: location is not that big of a deal. That is why you rank it. If they’re going to accept you, they accept you. They put you into whatever program is not already full, and whatever is your highest choice. So if you say MIT is your highest choice, and it is already full, they will put you in UPenn for example, which would be your 2nd choice if that camp was not already full. All students who are accepted are equal, those who go to MIT were not more “qualified” then those who got into Penn or Northwestern or UT.
so if we don’t get an email about location preference before the EA decision date… is it a rejection??
I only had the interview and no location email or acceptance email…
As an alum, just wanted to pour some info here so you guys don’t freak out…
- "the most competitive application pool ever" probably true
- "Location Update Email" getting that email does NOT mean you are accepted or will get an interview
- Interview: I personally have not seen anyone getting accepted without one. That being said, interviews are given out on a rolling basis.
- Portal: you don't need to constantly refresh your portal. You will get immediately an email if you are accepted and the portal will update after sending the email.
- "those who go to MIT were not more "qualified" then those who got into Penn or Northwestern or UT." I doubt that. Tons of people are probably putting MIT as first choice.
- "so if we don't get an email about location preference before the EA decision date.... is it a rejection??" No
Also, avoid using your real name as the username on forums like college confidential.
@notyourmatcha It is impossible that nobody viewed your video. Don’t trust YouTube stats, they are inaccurate.
ig it wouldn’t hurt to email them asking about the location email…
@preciouscanoe let us know if u get a reply plz
@preciouscanoe Chill. You’re worrying too much about this…
@Kanger0o I didn’t email them, just waiting for now
I’m just curious, what grade are you guys in?
@Businessnerd21 There was a guy in my session who was a freshman when he was admitted.
has anyone got accepted yet? Do all the decisions come out at once on Feb. 28 or do they come out on a rolling basis before Feb. 28?
@shinemaker a few have gotten their acceptances already, but a majority of us hasn’t heard back yet
I know this is completely unrelated, but does anyone know the early decision notification date for endevvr?
Has anyone else already received an acceptance? I thought they released all acceptances on one date…but apparently not. That’s a little bit nerve wracking.
The others may be lying about receiving an acceptance if they had been accepted already they would’ve been able to say WHICH school they were accepted for.
