MIT Prank Takes Caltech Cannon Cross-Country

I can certainly check.

I've just been informed that the email from Caltech admissions is legit. Take pictures, win prize! : )

lol, ben can you find out what the prize is?

yeah so apparently you can't steal the MIT ring off the cannon; it's bolted on =/ (yes, I tried... tonight) hahaha

vintor, 3 bolts, right?

4 actually, and you can't really use a screwdriver or anything to remove them

And to think that this was only taken a few weeks ago...

So I was watching NUMB3RS (Tivoed from yesterday...), and as I was fast forwarding through the commercials, I noticed something that looked familiar. I went back, and saw that one of the CBS news commercials had a story about the cannon prank:

-Oren

We got it back as of this morning. And it's not the Caltech Cannon... it's the Fleming Cannon!

www.flemingcannon.com

I was at MIT's CPW...MIT rocks

woot! Caltech got it back!!!

My friend (from Fleming) was part of the party that got it back.

Three cheers for the Fleming rescue party!

-Oren

You should see the war room back at Tech. It's pretty impressive -- plans and maps everywhere and a public relations center. I am quite impressed by what just one house can do. Wait til the others join in. : )

blahaha sounds like a blast

I'd love to know what permits are needed, if any, to transport cannons!

w00t... I can't wait to hear the full story of this operation at PFW.

sigh but MIT kept the jewelry.

bling bling

Someone can't count to ten. :-P

I was only hoping to get to see it up close soon, but oh well.
