MIT short essays?

<p>In what style would you answer the questions?
Example: if they ask you what you like to do in your spare time, would you write a brief narrative or just simply tell them what you do?
Would you describe a particular event or just state the things you do?
Is an active voice recommended for these essays?</p>

<p>I was pretty blunt with mine. Then again, I got rejected. </p>

<p>I would generally recommend an active voice. Passive voice is occasionally warranted. Sometimes an entire passage should be almost all passive. </p>

<p>Too much passive voice is used by me. If this problem afflicts you as well, have an editor with a strong grammar eye (and a tendency for active voice) read over it.</p>

<p>I just told them straight up what I do. I don’t think there’s enough room to be creative with only 100 words. Blunt is best with that one and the one about your prospective major</p>
