Hey Guys,

I have gotten in to both of these along with Carnegie Mellon, Caltech, and UT Austin but my top two choices are MIT and Stanford. Financial Aid is not a problem for either of those. I am torn apart on which college to attend and I can see myself going to either of them. Which one will give better job offers etc. because I feel like this is the final deciding factor in these two.

Where would you like to work – northeast region or Silicon Valley? Both attract non-local recruiters, but there is always some local bias, particularly among the smaller companies that do not travel to recruit from colleges.

Take a look at the general education requirements for each school, and take a look at the CS (EECS in MIT’s case) major requirements and courses.

I’m not really sure where I would like to work but I looked at the course requirements and I saw Stanford looked easier but which university’s average graduate is ahead?

In terms of CS prestige and rank…they are equal. In terms of culture and philosophy and vibe…each school is very different…most students know they would hate one type of academic lifestyle (MIT/Caltech) vs a laid-back, chill lifestyle that is Stanford/Yale…

…one would fit well at Stanford and not at MIT depending on their personality/lifestyle…and you KNOW what you like (most students have a strong preference)…

If you ONLY care about “earnings” or return on investment (ROI) or going into venture capital backed entrepreneurship then maybe this should help:

…I still strongly recommend choosing a school where you would be happy and thrive! You would not want to be in an environment where you could be miserable for 4 years just to get a degree…choose wisely.
