Is anyone applying for the MITE2S summer program? It just caught my attention because MIT accepted 30 of the 74 students from the 2003 session. The other 44 students were accepted to other great schools.

30 out of 74 is still 40%

Matt Mcgann, assistant director of MIT admission, told the Rickoids that they have a 75% chance of getting in. so your best bet, if you're going to apply to one summer program, has to be RSI if you want to into MIT.

Staticsoliloquy; calProspective didn't say anything about wanting a ticket to MIT, but rather, the high acceptance rate for students who participated in this program at MIT caught her attention. And a 40% chance of acceptance still gives you much better odds of getting into the school then an ordinary EA applicant. This figure might also be misleading, as it was probably deflated slightly by some of the 44 other participants applying only to "other great schools." As you have mentioned in earlier posts, it is much easier to get into MITE2S then RSI. If a student does not have the scores or hasn't partaken in lengthy research projects that are assumed of most RSI applicants, MITE2S sounds like a very reasonable alternative.
