Molecular Geometry and VSEPR - HELPPP!!

I do not get how to tell what type of molecular geometry ionic/covalent bonds have after I draw them out cause I don't get how the vsepr works...someone want to help?

You first have to determine electronic geometry, which is the number of areas of electron density (lone pairs or bonds). Then, by using the number of lone pairs around the central atom, you can determine what the molecular shape is...search for "molecular geometry chart" on Google and something should pop up.

ok, I think I'm starting to get it better now. But how do you tell if a domain is nonbonding? Does it just mean that two of the electrons aren't bonded?
