Ahhhhh, (that sound does not translate well in text but picture Rachel in "Friends") that's so nice about the wine glasses. Do you ever use them? Someday you can set your Thanksgiving table with them.

Yep, we use them a lot. Especially with friends and family that share our pride in the kid.

My wife and I brought out our PPW wine glasses on our son's birthday. In his absence, we made a special toast to our son, all the cadets(current and past), the dedicated leaders/teachers at USMA and, finally, to all the cadet parents. It brought both a smile and a tear to our faces.

So goes the Yin and Yang of cadet parents.

how wonderful-
be proud of your pride-
well earned.
Congrats to your cadets- hope things are going well up in WP!

(hey Z....does USNA give out any glasses too??? I want one!!! :( )

Well, I never attended any Parent-related functions, so I can't speak to those. However, USNA holds annual Dining-In dinners at the Brigade level. Glasses ARE made for those, and I still have a few from my time.

My parents either never knew about or weren't able to attend any hometown gatherings, and Annapolis was too far away for a night out, so the glasses they have are from my Dining-Ins. This was before the days of the internet, too, so the social circuit was a bit tougher to organize.

Wish I had a better answer for you, but that's all I've got to offer on this one.

I have 5 wine glasses from PPW and use them regularly. The wine seems to taste better in them.

My words of advice to anyone attending PPW. Bring your tote bag. Bring some clean socks to stick the wine glasses in and then you can wrap them in bubble wrap. I started my trip home with 6 glasses. The one that was just in bubble wrap broke on the way home.
