hey, i was thinking about applying to precollege at ucla but it costs about $7000 and was wondering if anyone knew of anyway that i could get (a) scholarship(s) to help pay that.
sorry if my question's a bit vague but i'm new scholarship searching...

Not sure what precollege means, but I did a 'precollege' high school honors program thing at BU over the summer. Took courses, have a GPA up there, the whole nine yards - I got financial aid based on my family's income from the school itself.

I did a scholarship hunt before I got in, and learned that there is basically no fin aid for summer programs except from the school itself.

what i mean by precollege is going to the college for like 6 week during the summer and taking a couple of college classes and being able to experience college life. The one i'm looking at costs around $7000 and they offer need/merit based aid up to $2000 so i was wondering where i could find the rest of the money. thanks for replying!

anyone else have any input?

Apply as early as possible to your program. I applied last minute to Brown's Pre-college program, and got $0 financial aid, even though I needed it (badly). Good thing I got into a FREE summer program (TASP!).

Yeah, I'm going to appy for the financial aid/scholarship as soon as the '04 tax returns come in but from what I understand, the program I'm currently looking at provides at max around $2000 of a tuition around 6-7 thousand.
