Money money money...

Greetings,

I have read threads and comments suggesting GMU is a commuter school, few people, quite new, just getting started and backup plan for VA kids. But in my search for college I do have to consider it, athough I'm a OOS student, because of location location location. Yes, I want to study IR and intern somewhere in the government and end up working for the government as well. So, to me..although it's not GTown or Hopkins, it does have an appeal. Plus, I hear there's new constructions and campuses abroad..so that's always good.

Having that settled, I know it costs about 25K a yr, but I don't really know what about their FA. Do they provide good amounts of scholarships, grants, etc?

Ps. I will have to pay for school on my own, so I'd also like to know if the courseload will allow me to maybe get a part time job or maybe good workstudy programs available (I know it depends on FAFSA results, but still).

Thanks

I think it actually costs closer to $30k for the full OOS cost of attendance.

About 25 kids are given a very large merit scholarship (almost but not quite a full ride) each year: [The University Scholars Program | George Mason University Honors College](http://www.gmu.edu/depts/usp/faq.html)

Need-based aid may be available, but since you are out-of-state I don’t know how much you would get. Contact the Financial Aid office: [Financial Aid - George Mason University](<a href=“Financial Aid | George Mason University”>Financial Aid | George Mason University)

thank you for the info noimagination…i’ll look it up!
