monthly payment plan?

<p>Hi, I'm going to be a freshman this fall and I want to apply for the monthly payment plan. However, I don't understand this line in the contract: "In order to qualify for this plan you must have a minimum balance of $2,000 and have no balances from prior semesters." </p>

<p>Which balance this line's mentioning? Can a freshman apply for the MPP? Thanks so much:)</p>

<p>Yes, freshmen can use the MPP. It just means that after scholarships and financial aid are applied, you must owe a minimum of $2000.00 to UM.</p>
