Does age really count as personal info? I really don't think so. But, for those who do find my comment intrusive, I offer my most sincerest apology.

-adides the smiley faces are reeealy annoying.

-I agree that one's age does not have any bearing on his credibility; however, I also dont think that such an intense obsession with a process from which a person is 47 years removed is particularly healthy for that person. Hell, its not particularly healthy for anyone to be obsessed with this process-unless that person is an adcom....

Byerly you have a knowledge of and familiarity with the process that intimates either a direct role (ie that of adcom or counselor) or an obsession with the process. I make no presumptions as to where exactly you might fall.

I'm beginning to think that Harvard pays him to be on this website. I mean...he posts constantly. Who could hold down a job and do that much posting/researching about Harvard at the same time....unless it was his job! Ahah!

"Nor have I ever said - or implied - the Princeton was 'inferior.' Where do you get this stuff?"

Probably these impressions came from reading your posts:

1) Repetitive statements that "there is no shame about being #3 in the entire country" and "Harvard is in a class by itself."

2) Repetitive statements that either imply or state that HARVARD (often seems to be in all CAPS) is superior because 75% of "common admits from school XXX" choose to enroll there.

3) Repetitive links to articles in USA Today and Podunk Newspaper XXX about how wonderful it is that students have been accepted to Harvard.

It's wonderful to be proud of one's alma mater, whether it's Harvard, Princeton, or Big State U. But there is no need to be obnoxious and put others down (either explicitly or implied), particularly on a board that's loaded with teenagers who don't know any better. And I really don't see the point of doing this, and then innocently trying to deny it.

To report (accurately) that Harvard is widely perceived to be in "a class by itself" and generally preferred by common admits is a far cry from saying that another school is "inferior." Get a grip.

Do you feel it is your mission to shield "innocent teenagers" from news stories portraying Harvard in a favorable light?

I recognize that you have confessed elsewhere that you are "biased as a Stanford alum" and I have noted earlier posts ripping a Stanford critic, calling attention to Yale's shortcomings (as you preceive them) and ripping my own pro-Harvard sentiments on some point with which you disagreed. Only 12 posts, but a pretty dispeptic tone in a lot of them!

I do not have similar hostile feelings toward ANY school - whether Stanford, Princeton or Yale, and have never engaged in the kind of harsh criticism of schools (other than Stanford) that seems to be your forte.

time to close this thread or move it to Harvard's forum(or anywhere else away from Princeton's forum), which is where it seems to belong with the new direction of the discussion.
