Hurray for Princeton!!! :D

could we PLEASE stop comparing both schools! theyre both amazing schools in the same group of universities. although the ivy league rivalry will never end, we should at least attempt to establish a solid frienship between members of both schools. i'm sure that many Harvard students have friends and family studying at Princeton, and vice versa. thus, at least try to use that connection to create a sense of pride in both schools. i personally am going to Princeton, but my sister is a year older than me and attends Harvard. In my house, both schools are highly reveered, and both schools hold a piece of each of our hearts.

i say we put an end to this ridiculous bull-caca and stop trying to "trump" each other with equally impressive but in the end meaningless statistics.

ALL HAIL! THE PRINCETON-HARVARD or HARVARD-PRINCETON ALLIANCE! UNITE!

mightychip...I will join your united front. However, these posts are meant for only one person.

google makes it very easy to find such junk.

hellz yeah Simba! The united front welcomes you!

Byerly is joining too! I KNOW IT! PLEASE BYERLY? CAN WE BE FRIENDS?

--David--

MightyChip, my experience tells me that in the real (nonvirtual) world, Harvard and Princeton students are both happy studying where they are and have a great deal of respect for one another. I wouldn't worry about the mythology that's been created on this board by a tiny minority.

aparent5 and alumother it seems that I have stumbled up on tricks of the trade.

The front is quiet now.

How the heck does Harvard have better parking than Princeton? I've been to both schools....Harvard's parking is awful....not that this is their fault...its just...Cambridge and Boston are so packed with people. heh

Campusdirt is known for a place for college students to bash the schools they attend. Those "ratings" mean nothing at all. The student sample is clearly not one of statistical relevance.

At least the other surveys cited have some academic backing. This, however, doesn't.

Where's Byerly?

ivyboy: Higher the number better it is.

thinkjose1: I am wondering that too.

i find it funny that there is so much Pton bashing, when they are both ranked #1 on usnews.

Man why is USNEWS taken as gospel by everybody? What do they grade schools on?

amnesia: Good question. One possible reason might be that Harvard shares # 1 spot with Princeton. There are few people in the world who can't stand that. Have you noticed that there are many Harvard kids/adults posting on Princeton board than Princeton kids on Harvard board?

Some of them also believe that by villifying Princeton, they are steering away potential candidates to apply. In their twisted logic they think that they are doing their best to promote the school they like.

I haven't noticed anybody villifying Princeton, which is a very fine school.

Despite the fact that this thread is idiotic, I wouldn't trust that webpage to begin with. I just looked at it for a few seconds, and they say that brown has over 14,000 undergrad students, which is almost three times the actual number of undergrads. Additionally, their top ten lists are absurd. Someone there doesn't know what they are talking about.

Oh look the guest of honor's arrived!

too much attention to harvard. waht about a princeton-yale comparison?

Ha, good point, Simba, I don't think I've ever been to the Harvard board, and I remember how jealous they were of our ED community :p

Anonymous, I think Yale is actually more similar to Princeton than Harvard is. It was a close second choice for me, and I applied there but not Harvard. Yale also touts its undergrad focus, but I don't know what purpose there is to really comparing these schools. They are all superb, prestigious institutions that have their uniqueness.

I'm not sure whether H or Y is more similar to Princeton, but the two are definitely more similar to each other than to P. If that makes any sense...
