<p>I am starting college in the fall at the really liberal college in New England. I heard the school is like half gay kids which doesn't bother me at all, I could care less but I am worried myself of being accepted because I am a Mormon? What is the liberal and homosexual communities views on Mormons at the college age group. I just want to get my education but I am scared that I won't have any friends.</p>
<p>Liberals and homosexuals typically aren’t very prejudiced against anyone. That’s not true of all of them, but the vast majority aren’t going to care who you are or where you’re coming from.</p>
<p>I’m about as liberal as they come (and not straight) with a few really good friends who are Mormon. The general consensus that most liberals have is “Don’t tell me I’m going to hell or wrong about x, y, and z and we can be great pals.”</p>
<p>Liberal, homosexual speaking here: you’ll be accepted for who you are, as long as you accept others. I’m great friends with some conservative, religious people.</p>
<p>^^^Yes. I forgot to add that. They’ll be very accepting of you, as long as you’re very accepting of them. It doesn’t sound like that will be an issue for you…but as long as you’re not telling them that they’re wrong for being gay or trying to preach your faith to them, you’ll be fine.</p>
<p>One mormon girl went to my liberal arts college (which swings fairly left of center). Though she and I were never great friends, she did befriend plenty of people since she kept her religious and moral views to herself, and just acted naturally.</p>
<p>From what I understand, her biggest problem was getting to church. Fortunately she arranged a carpool with some area Mormons, but since she was the only one at her school with that particular faith, she had to integrate herself with the outside community to be able to continue to practice. This wasn’t a huge issue as my school was in an exurb of Atlanta, but it might be a problem if you go to school in an area with few Mormons (assuming you continue to practice your faith in college).</p>
<p>A Morman was elected as the Governor of Massachusetts.</p>
