CSS wants to know my "mortgage payment". Is that limited to my 1st or can I also include what I pay on my 2nd?

My 1st is relatively low because its an "interest only for the first five years" payment. But in a couple of years it will rise drastically. Do they care?

Are they going to assume I could take out a 2nd or 3rd mortgage to pay tuition for my children? Why don't they ask about 2nd or 3rds?

You can include both the first and second mortgage payment on your primary residence. Don't sweat over this one, though-- these figures don't get factored into the formula.

Thanks! Here's another question. When they ask the tuition on my other child - can I include his dorm room & board and books or is it strictly limited to "tuition"? UC "tuition" is only about $6,100 but when you factor in the dorm fees and books its almost triple that.

Are you in Section H (which asks about tuition, but only through High School), or M (which asks for Parent's Contribution to post-secondary school, which would include paren't share of tuition & fees, room and board, supplies and misc expenses)?

Also check the Profile instructions-- they provide guidance on these sorts of questions.
