Most Competetive Next Year?

Is next year supposed to be the most competetive year in college admissions?

i think its this year, 06-07. thats what i remember hearing although i may be wrong.

too many people were born in 1989. Ugh

I don't know about overall, but this is the most competitive graduating class our school has had in a LONG time.

I generally agree with the first poster.

This will be the most competitive year yet for schools that just started accepting the Common App (Caltech, Penn, Northwestern, etc).

What about the highschool class of 2011? Is that year competitive?

are you telling me you're going into 8th grade?

its hard to say which is the most competitive year exactly, but this certainly is the most competitive era for sure.

1987--1989: Too many people were born during this period of time. After 1990, the number began to decrease. So I guess this year IS the most competitive. :/

Although supposedly while the quantity of high school students will decrease, the dropout rates will continue to decrease and the average competency of each candidate will increase.

I have read that the high school class of 2008 is the largest with 2009 a very close second. It then slowly drops.

For our school...the classes just keep getting bigger and bigger. Each incoming class is getting bigger and bigger. I also think that more people are starting to care about college because it has become of such importance. So each year should be getting more and more competitive.

class of 06 at my hs was insane, fillled up with 4.0uw and heavily inflated gpa's. It seems class of 07 is slightly less competitive at my school.
