I remember reading an article in the CSM and a girl was accepted to UPenn because I believe she wanted to be a Linguistics major and that sort of was in short demand. I was wondering what major would most make you stand out, meaning which ones are in shorter demand? Since American college admissions are sometimes driven by race, which major would make a Hispanic stand out?

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh come on

well this may make me sound stupid/racist/sexist/prejudiced/whatever but my guess is that if u r a girl, short demand would be engineering and mechanics and stuff, for a boy would be .. cosmetology? lol um hispanics um you could be a foreign language teacher. im not sure about the demand for that now but i heard a while back they were looking for more teachers... but that could b totally different now.
actually my knowledge of this matter is extremely limited and probably biased so i dont even know why i am posting ... lol
but you shouldnt pick a major just so u can be assured to get into college. it HAS to be something you like or think you will like because well, its your major.. and you major in it.. lol i am SO bad at giving advice
good luck

supposedly Harvard Divinity School accepts something like 75% of its applcants...granted it's probably a very self-selective applicant pool.
