Is Computer Science the most difficult major?
CS was difficult, but I’m sure I would have had a much harder time if I majored in something like EE or Physics.
I have the impression that the concepts may be more difficult in EE or Physics, but CS is more time consuming.
CS is often time consuming because assignments and projects involving programming are time consuming.
However, other majors can have many time consuming courses:
- engineering, science: lab courses
- visual art, architecture: studio
- performing art and music: performance practice
- possibly any major: courses with large term projects
Intellectual difficulty is a different aspect from workload. There are probably many CS majors who would find majoring in a humanities subject to be incredibly difficult, for example.
