Most important websites for Cal Students

Hello,

I am an incoming junior transfer and I am wondering which websites (related to Cal, not necessarily official Berkeley sites) you are using most often. This can include anything: Courses/Schedule, Professor/Class Ratings, Textbooks, Student Activities, Events on-campus, Lecture/Exam Archives, etc.

Hope we can put together a nice list for new students!

Hmmm…I don’t know that many, but here goes:

[CalGreeks - Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of California, Berkeley/url
this site (collegeconfidential.com)
Pick-A-Prof (for grade distributions and professor reviews)
callisto (for jobs)
www.workstudy.berkeley.edu](http://www.calgreeks.com/)

There are department-specific ones that are helpful, but obviously not everyone needs every one of them.

pick-a-prof and ratemyprofessor for scoping out classes

[ESC UC Berkeley Scheduler](http://esc.frozeninflames.net/) for scheduling classes ([Aman’s Interface to Berkeley’s Online Schedule](http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~amanb/makeSched/) used to be popular, but is not updated and is often down)

bearfacts.berkeley.edu for checking final grades, unofficial transcript, degree check, and various other administrative things

bspace.berkeley.edu for your courses’ website. professors/GSIs will often use it to post homework, some will use it to post midterm grades.

facebook is probably the most effective for finding events. join the group for whatever activities you are interested in and you’ll probably hear about events through mass messaging or event invitations

hope this helps a bit.

Welcome | Ned’s - Berkeley/url

Campusbuddy.com/ is something i use for grade distribution in case pick-a-prof is not working and what I like is campusbuddy has +/- ranges.
