What exactly does that mean? I’ve heard some people say it means you have to take every single AP class available, while others say to be in the ballpark. My Freshman year, I took the max number of APs (1) and Honors classes. My 10th-grade year, we had 2 AP classes available (World and Bio). I took World but opted for Honors Bio instead. I kind of panicked my Junior year because I didn’t take AP Bio, so I took 6 APs (max) to try and “catch-up” if you will. My Senior year you can take 7, but I opted to take 5 APs (I only have 5 periods as a Senior) because I wanted to be able to work at my job after school. Our Sal is also taking 5 APs, and our Val is taking 6 - no one, at least that I know of, is taking 7. Would you say that that courseload would be enough to be classified under the most rigorous?
You should ask your school counselor. They’re the ones with the best opinion on this.
^^^ What post #1 says. “most rigorous” is whatever it takes to have your GC check that box
I agree with @cbh088 on this. Ask the councelor. You want the counselor to take check the highest rigor on your information meaning you have the highest ratio of honors, AP, IB, and Dual taken to those same available or offered. You are taking high rigor but you would need to check with your school to see if it is the “most rigor possible”
The answer to the OPs question is going to be different for each school.
In some schools it is X number of APs. In our high school, it is up to each guidance counselor’s assessment of each student’s abilities.
Rigor is relative to what is offered in your HS. Talk to your guidance counselor about this.
