DD got beautiful Van Cleef mother-of-pearl pendant for her birthday which she would like to wear every day. She doesn’t like taking her necklace off. I read that it’s not good to get it wet. Do you know of any water resistant type of pouch she can put over this pendant while in the shower?

I don’t think any sort of bag could keep it completely dry in the shower; even a ziplock bag could not be fully sealed while she is wearing it.
Chlorinated water is not good for pearls.
She should take it off.

If it is the Alhambra, my daughter has one and she never takes it off even in the shower, swimming pool and she’s had it for a few years. It should be safe in the shower.

Hot water can harm mother of pearl so wearing in the shower is not recommended.

Is the chain platinum or gold? If the latter, I highly recommend finding a platinum chain and swapping it, because gold alloys can be problematic to be worn 24/7/365 (which is what she apparently wants to do). Some metals in those alloys can cause skin irritation upon prolonged contact. Speaking from personal experience.
