<p>I was surfing other college forums and I found a thread that asked whether there had been any movies featuring a certain college. I thought that those movies could be cool to watch and so i am now wondering: are there any movies (well known, or not so well known) that feature NU or nearby/surrounding areas?</p>

<p>While not set at Northeastern, my favorite Boston movie is Good Will Hunting. It mixes the two worlds of Boston: the academic (MIT) and the gritty (Dorchester).</p>
<p>The only thing I can think of is in Ted, at one point some character is staying at the Midtown Hotel. In the establishing shot, you cannot actually see any Northeastern buildings, but the YMCA is clearly visible (to those who aren’t familiar with NEU’s campus, the Y is flanked on the back and one side by Northeastern’s campus, Northeastern houses some students in the Y, and the Y is actually where the first Northeastern classes were held back in the late 19th century - oh, and that particular shot would have looked considerably sillier were it taken a year or so in the future, as Northeastern is building a new dorm behind the Y which is basically going to tower over it… if it ever is completed).</p>
