Moving cross country

So, I applied to seven schools and only ended up getting into two. However, they are both really good schools. I got into the University of Washington in Seattle and Emory University. My problem is that I can't decide whether or not I am ready to move across the country to go to Emory (I live in Washington). My question is if you could give me some advice/experiences about going to college across the country?

krista I have advice, but it's from the parents' pov.

It all depends on your personal and financial parameters.

If you can afford the additional travel expense and your adventurous spirit speaks louder than your homebody spirit than go for it!

If you know that you are likely to need to just hang out at your parent's house from time to time because you already have those tendencies got to Udub.

If you are somewhere in the middle and money is not a worry go for Emory only because your homesickness if it hits you there will be most intense for only a relatively brief period. You'll learn to cope with it and come out on the other side stonger and more capable. Plus if $ is not an issue you can hop home for occaisional long weekend.

When I went to college I went where I had no friends. Though I was in state and just 4 hours away, I rebelled against going where the other kids from my hs were going. If that's you too, then Emory would certainly help you carve your own new path.

Good Luck with your decision and congratulations on your acceptances to two fine schools!
